About HET Software
HET Software develops software solutions specifically for homecare providers. The company was founded in 1993 and has experienced year on year organic growth from sales of software designed for organisations involved with domiciliary care, care in the community and supported living. Today HET Software is a major player in the homecare market sector with a track record of developing innovative user focused software designed to improve business processes.
Since 2005 HET Software has been successfully operating in Australia and the Far East and has a technical support centre in Penang, Malaysia with a team of six support specialists.
The business now employs a team of 50 people on three continents and is keen to grow and expand our area of operation in the future.

Our team of software developers are highly skilled and capable; their talents are directed into the creation of solutions that are simple from the “front end” , to ensure a positive user experience , whilst often highly complex from the “back office ” to facilitate the flexibility, functionality and interface capability required by our clients.
HET Software is committed to the continuous review of software and services; development is shaped by our clients’ experience and feedback. Listening to our clients and understanding our market ensures that software is developed to be scalable and future proofed. Upgrades to our software are released without further cost to existing clients covered by a Support Contract.
Quality software is one aspect of the HET Software offer; the solutions provided are endorsed by extensive Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and a nationwide support infrastructure.
In order to maintain our reputation for service provision HET Software has consistently reinvested in the business to employ additional staff. This has resulted in a higher level of staff than many of our key competitors in essential customer-facing areas such as software development, Help Desk and training.
Since 2000 HET Software has been accredited to BS ISO 9001. We value this accreditation and work to ensure that by managing quality policies and procedures in respect of product creation and delivery to customers the accreditation is maintained. The Team
John Mayhew
Chief Executive
A co-founder of the business in 1993, he became chief executive in 1999. Originally trained as a journalist, John founded a training organisation for the financial services industry and later a corporate television production company in the early days of video technology. Both were sold to a public company in 1988 after which he provided communication consultancy for 7 years, prior to the formation of HET. During this consultancy period he acted as an advisor on employee communication for the privatisation programmes of the gas, electricity and water industries in England and Scotland.
John’s background in media and communications ensure the company approaches software development from a non-technical perspective, which has great benefits for the end user in terms of functionality and ease of use.
Karen Mayhew
Non-Executive Director
Karen’s career has been spent in Social Housing, with a particular interest in the needs of vulnerable people and community care issues. Karen is the deputy chief executive of a Registered Social Landlord.
Karen’s experience contributes to HET Software’s understanding of some of the issues and constraints facing those organisations tasked with providing care to the vulnerable sectors of our society.
Paul Patarou
Sales Director
Paul joined HET Software as Sales Director in 2007. Paul’s expertise in sales and business development, acquired whilst working with several blue chip companies, has already started to reap rewards for HET Software.
Paul is responsible for client retention and care; new business development and service delivery.
Chris Miller
Director
Chris graduated in Economics and Accountancy from University College Cardiff in 1969 and qualified as member of Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in 1971.
Chris's background is in Finance and General Management and in a business career spanning over 30 years he has held senior management and board level appointments in a number of businesses. Industry experience includes Motor Vehicle Components, Chemicals, Direct Marketing, FMCG and Food Distribution.
Chris is a director of Cambridge Business Associates Ltd and, since 2002, has operated successfully as a consultant / adviser to SME's working with a wide variety of organisations in a number of industry sectors. Chris has been associated with HET since 2004.
