A co-founder of the business in 1993, he became chief executive in 1999 and executive chairman at the end of 2009. Originally trained as a journalist, John founded a training organisation for the financial services industry and later a corporate television production company in the early days of video technology. Both were sold to a public company in 1988 after which he provided communication consultancy for 7 years, prior to the formation of h.e.t. During this consultancy period he acted as an advisor on employee communication for the privatisation programmes of the gas, electricity and water industries in England and Scotland.
John's background in media and communications ensure the company approaches software development from a non-technical perspective, which has great benefits for the end user in terms of functionality and ease of use.
