Alerts
This feature allows you to write key information about a service user which will then be displayed within areas of CareManager to assist you when using the software.
Firstly select a service user from the service user browse screen.
Then enter their general details screen.
There will now be a text box is the bottom of this screen where a short block of text can be entered about the service user.
You will then see a yellow triangle symbol within specific screens in CareManager such as the side menu, service user browse, allocation and visit properties.
If you hover over the symbol in any of these screens the alert text will be displayed providing key information to you when performing key tasks.
Child filters
This new feature provides a much more powerful filtering mechanism when using CareManager filters. This feature allows you to use existing filters within new custom filters, including default filters. This will allow you to build up complex and highly customised filter to show you the information you wish to see.
To create these filters click new filter and the filter box will appear with an additional window. Edit the filter how you wish and then right click in the bottom pane and add or remove existing filters to new filtering you’ve just configured in the top pane. The logical operator works the same way as the existing mechanism.
Copying charge rates
This is a feature that allows you create a copy of an existing charge rate sets making it easier to create new rates.
When viewing the charge rates screen right click on a rate set and select copy. This will create an exact copy of the rate set with “copy” appended to the rate name. This can now be edited.
Copying visit plans
This is a feature that allows you create a copy of an existing visit plans making it easier to create new visit plans.
When viewing the service user care planning screen right click on a visit plan and select copy this visit plan. This will create an exact copy of the selected visit plan with “copy” appended to the rate name. This can now be edited.
Data server in status bar
This feature shows the CareManager data source location on the status bar at the bottom of the screen.
To enable this feature log into CareManager as a supervisor user and enter the application settings. Change the “showdataconnectionsinstatusbar” setting to true and restart CareManager. The data source will now appear at the bottom of the screen.
Dockable explorer bar
This new feature allows you hide the side menu whilst performing tasks in CareManager.
By default the menu will always be present. However by clicking the pin button at the top of the menu the menu will then hide itself at the side of the screen when not being used.
The menu will re-appear if you hover the mouse of the “menu” tab at the top left of the screen. The menu will then automatically hide when the mouse moves away.
The menu can be re-pinned by click on the pin button again. This will result in the menu being shown at all times.
Worker – worker preferences
This new feature can be accessed through the worker’s general details screen. It allows your workers to specify positively or negatively if they wish to work together on double up visits.
The general details screen will have a new tab at the top labelled worker-worker preference. Enter the screen, select new and specify the second worker from the drop down and select preferred or exclude. Then press OK and this preference will be saved. It can be edited or removed if required.
Max worker hours
The new feature allows you to specify how many hours a worker is allowed to work over a specified period of time. This can then be checked during the allocation process and CareManager will prevent visits from being allocated to worker that has exceeded their hours.
For this feature to be enabled a supervisor user will firstly need to add a setting to the worker suitability checks. The latest CareManager user guide provides instructions for doing this.
The worker financial screen provides the options to define the maximum hours. A period of time in days and a quantity of hours can be added. This click “set individual hours”.
CareManager will now prevent visits being allocated past this threshold during allocation.
Override worker exclusions
This feature provides the facility for CareManager users to override worker-client exclusions when allocating.
To enable this a supervisor user will need to log into CareManager and access the security screen. User can then be given permissions to override by changing the “Allocate.Override” permission.
Now during allocation a user with this permission can allocate a visit to an excluded worker and override the check.
Rename Assessment Elements
This feature allows user to rename elements in service user assessments to allow for some customisation.
To do this enter the assessment screen and create or edit an assessment. Click the new button “Add/Remove content” and this will bring up a new window.
Right click on an assessment element and select rename, you can then overtype the name and press ok. The renamed element will appear in assessments.
Unallocated visits count in status bar
The feature shows the number of visits currently unallocated in the status bar at the bottom of the CareManager screen.
To enable this setting log in as a supervisor and in application setting change the "UI.ShowUnallocatedVisitsInStatusBar" setting to read true. Then restart CareManager, the number of unallocated visits will now be displayed.
Worker suitability tabs
The allocation screen has been altered in this version to readily provide more information during allocation.
On the left side of the worker suitability window when allocating are three new tabs. These show a small amount of information at a glance about the visit, client and location of a visit being allocated.
By moving the mouse over these tabs they can be slid out to show more detailed information about these three sections. All three tabs can also be pinned so they are always visible by clicking the pin button at the top of each tab. They can be un-pinned in the same way.
